| I wrote Crazy Bag 3 years ago while living far from home, high in the rocky mountains of Colorado. I wrote the show as a means of coming to terms with my life...never imagining how it would change it. In 2007, Crazy Bag went to the Colorado Theatre Festival winning best director, actress and set. It then performed in Breckenridge, Aspen and Denver. In May of last year,I left my full-time (“dull, but normal”) job to tour the show across the southwest-living out of suitcases and pulling 500 lbs of baggage on a trailer behind me...the epitome of life imitating art. The bags eventually came home to Asheville, where the journey began in college, 15 years ago. The true humor in this show is that it brought me right back to where I started to find what I’d been looking for all along. This show changed my life. My greatest hope is that it will touch yours. -Murphy |
